I'm thinking about getting my garage floor covered with a spray-on type coating. Does anyone have any comments or history with this type of floor? What is the best kind to use?

I would suggest hiring a local contractor who is experienced in this type of job. If done right it will take several days. First, the floor has to be cleaned, cracks repaired and washed in an acid bath to make the epoxy stick. Make sure they don't cut any corners because the floor will start to come up later if this isn't done right. Make sure they use a high quality epoxy as well. Cheap versions will flake up later, particularly where "the rubber meets the road". Try not to turn your car's wheels unless they are rolling. Sitting wheels grind into the floor surface and can cause the epoxy to tear loose. You may want to consider an all weather plastic tile floor. These go down quick with no prep work and are easy to clean. If for some reason one does fail, you can replace the single tile and not have to redo the whole floor. That's what I have and it works great! Good Luck! 69Vette

I agree with 69Vette that you should hire an experienced contractor for this job. If they know what they are doing it shouldn't be a problem as long as you follow the recommended maintainance and cleaning schedule. It is a hard job to install though. I have my front porch done in this and I love it!
