I recently installed MonsterRAX in my garage and what an amazing product. We made enough storage space using the ceiling in our garage to finally get the cars back in. I put up three of MonsterRAX's 4x8 units and added enough space to equal three and a half closets. They give you a lifetime warrantee and their price and quality beat competition...hands down! Check them out at http://www.monsterrax.com or you can call them directly at 1-866-484-4729 I have a neighbor that bought the Hyloft brand and it doesn't even come with adequate mounting hardware. Another company, ONRAX, has a similar product, but their price and shipping time is out the door.

Please take the above post with a grain of salt as the writer is obviously financially tied to MonsterRAX. While they make a decent overhead rack they are not cheap and can be over-sized for many garage applications. For instance the 4' X 8" unit on their listed website is "on Sale" for $300. You can buy two Hyloft 4' X 4" systems on this website for less than $240 and get twice the number of ceiling supports (which hold all the weight) in the process. Contrary to the poster's claim the Hyloft system comes complete with all required hardware. Also with the Hyloft 4' X 4' systems you can fit them into tighter spots where you don't have 8' feet of open ceiling area. For larger areas just put units side by side until you have all the storage space you need. MonstorRAX does make a 4' X 4" unit as well but the cost is $200 vs $120 for Hyloft (almost double). Hyloft also has a lifetime warranty. While you could use the MonsterRax product we recommend the Hyloft brand because it is higher quality, has been in business longer than MonsterRAX, and costs much less to cover the same storage area.

I have research just about every overhead out their. I finally settled for TUFFRAX Heavy Duty Overhead Storage. This is a patent pending product with very unique features. First, the product arrived with all conponents in the boxes individually wrapped in plastic to prevent scratches and chipping during transportation. The steel quality, wormanship and power coating was excellent! I hired a handyman to install them and he is now a dealer for TUFFRAX. He found the installation simple and the product very versitile. There was no cutting of metal like the Monsterrax and very stable, unlike Hyloft. It was worth the price for this heavy duty unique product. If you want cheap by Hyloft and good luck. mbenz

TUFFRAX and MonsterRAX are both great products. If you are planning on storing heavy objects such as wheels, batteries, or bags of concrete overhead then you should consider using one of these two choices. If you using your overhead storage for normal everyday objects such as coolers, holiday decorations, or sporting equipment then the Hyloft system is more than adequate. It boils down to the simple question of "How much overhead weight capacity do I need and how much am I willing to pay for it?" Each individual will have to answer that question for themselves based on their particular needs.
